GOOD NEWS!!!

Many of us have spent a lot of time and energy and money trying to fight, stop or avoid a Moth Spray that isn't very pleasant for people and other living things, to say the least.

Finally and just recently, Kimberly and Foster have invited a successful attorney, Dan Sheehan, and Sara Nelson, a successful national organizer into our cause. Dan has won cases involving the highest levels of government (Iran/Contra, Karen Silkwood, Three-Mile Island, etc. http://www.newparadigminstitute.org/). Sara is equally as impressive. Both have hearts bigger than mine and even as big as some of yours.

Kimberly, Foster, Dan and Sara have agreed to help us and to guide us as well. People who were currently and conveniently available jumped in and took their direction. They initiated functional groups and signed up people mostly from the Sunday, Dec 9 Town Hall meeting who were capable and/or interested in each functional group (Politics, Economics, Media/PR, Health, Environment, Alliance Building/Outreach, Law, Legislation.) With guidance, an alliance for all of us was formed and given the name: CASS, Californian Alliance to Stop the Spray. A cumulative consensus document with contribution from each functional group is planned to be initiated and completed. It can be done quickly because so much research and work has already been done by so many of you individually and in previous and ongoing groups. With this consensus document and with the quality and determination and skill and love of all of us, and with their guidance and experience, we can now be effective and relevant in the arena of those who make the choices regarding this spray program.

For anyone who was not at the Town Hall meeting, this request is for you. For anyone who is tired or burned out or discouraged or angry or without hope, this request is for you. For those who started all of this and are still in it and for those who started it and are no longer in it and for those who are working alone and in groups, for everyone, this request is for you: Bring your research and information and motivation and management experience. Bring it to one or more of the Functional group meetings.

Lets bring it all this time and package it all this time together. No one is ahead of you. Even the management of the alliance will be selected at the initial functional meetings being scheduled right now, between Thursday December 13 and Sunday, December 16.

Anyone can become the management of CASS. Simply go to the initial functional group meeting and get yourself or a person of your choice selected through the group to be on the steering committee. The steering committee is the management group and it will be made up of those selected from each functional group. It is that simple. Even the people, including me, currently doing the admin on the interim steering committee will need to be selected by a functional group, same as anyone else, if they want to serve on the more permanent steering committee.

The meeting dates and times for each group will be posted on this website very soon. The Law group is already scheduled for Today, Thursday 7:30pm Santa Cruz City Council Offices conference room.

Action team meetings are being posted and announced often. We do not plan on sending out emails for announcements for each of the action team meetings. We need you to check www.LBAMSpray.com often. Meetings will be posted on the right side of  www.LBAMSpray.com home page as the information becomes available.

Lets all go forward now, only forward. The Enthusiasm and People Qualifications of this community are exceptional. Together, we will make the difference.
